Come ogni anno, il premio Coin of the Year (COTY) viene assegnato da una giuria composta da esperti del settore che sono chiamati a votare la moneta più bella per ognuna delle 10 categorie. Infine viene scelta la più bella in assoluto che viene incoronata ufficialmente alla World Money Fair di Berlino dell’anno successivo.
